Influence of ocean data assimilation on tropical precipitation deviation in climate model

Hui Chen

Abstract

This article uses ocean satellite to observe sea surface temperature ( SST ) and sea surface height exception (SLA ) data , on SOA first ocean researchInvestigate Earth system mode fio- ESM ( the "a Institute ofoceanographyearthsystem Model version 1 0) China Sea The Ocean mode component is set to adjust the Kalman filter (eakf) Assimilation , The contrasts the general circulation of the atmosphere , Humidity and cloud cover for ocean data Assimilation response , influence of ocean assimilation on the simulation deviation of tropical precipitation . results show : Ocean data assimilation effectively improves sea table simulation of temperature and upper ocean thermal content , °s ~ 30° N Latitude Band annual average SST The absolute difference of is reduced by 60% . assimilation of atmospheric modulessimulation of the equatorial side of the wind has significantly improved , The ascending airflow is enhanced in the tropical regions north of the equator, minus the in the tropics south of the equator weak , The dynamic structure of the tropical precipitation simulation is more reasonable , the water vapor and cloud cover distributions are also more realistic . Spatial distribution of annual average rainfall in the tropics and intensity improved after assimilation , A significant reduction in the peak annual average precipitation in the south of the equator , precipitation deviations are significantly reduced , after assimilation , °s~ 30° N reduce the average mean precipitation in the latitude band by 35% .
