Safety of Bus Rapid Transit System: The Case of Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

As an efficient and sustainable way of travel, mass transit system has attracted increasing attention worldwide. In addition to the optimization of capacity and efficiency, a good design can also improve the safety of the bus system and the surrounding environment, including the safety of passengers arriving at the station, bus transfer, etc. At present, this problem is often not properly considered in public transportation system design. This paper focuses on the bus rapid transit system (BRT) and discusses the road safety problems in the bus system.
