Bio Statement  

Assoc. Prof. Goh is interested in how pre-service teachers bridge the types of skills and knowledge taught in the university courses and the realities of their workplace practice. She believes that the pedagogy in teacher education should be geared towards the integration of pre-service teachers' theoretical knowledge and their practical situation.  

 

As a teacher herself before becoming an academic at the university, she is also interested in how pre-service teachers approach their learning, whether their own schooling, university pre-service program and their practicum sessions impacts their roles as teachers. "I believe that elements of their knowledge-base is, nevertheless, essential for them as they shift from a university based learning to the practical realities of classroom teaching". With these interest, Pauline has successfully obtained various grants to undertake projects that contribute towards pre-service teacher learning and serves and fulfills her university's mission to improve teacher education.

 

She is also the Chief Editor of the Journal of Research, Policy & Practice of Teachers & Teacher Education (JRPPTTE). Started in 2011, the journal has since garnered interest nationally and internationally in various areas of teaching and teacher education. JRPPTTE can be accessed here.
