Critical Review of the Current Language Policy in China

Abstract


This paper investigates the current Language Policy in China, using a descriptive qualitative approach throughout. Describing the current language policy and listing its strengths and weaknesses in detail, the author makes suggestions and recommendations for sustainable language development. In addition to providing a reference for the development of language policy in China, the paper also serves as a stimulus and inspiration for future research on language policy.
