Impact of Practical Teaching Using CAIA Model and SKG Model on Students’ Skills in Laboratory Animal Science
Abstract
In the current educational environment, traditional lecture-based teaching often fails to enable students to fully grasp experimental skills and profoundly understand theoretical knowledge. In this study, we explore the application of two animal models—the Collagen Antibody-Induced Arthritis (CAIA) model and the ZAP70 gene knockout mouse (SKG model)—within the context of Laboratory Animal Science education, with the aim of exploring a more effective practical teaching method to address the limitations of existing instructional models. Through the analysis of experimental results and student feedback, we found that the incorporation of animal model construction in Laboratory Animal Science education demonstrated signifi cant advantages across multiple dimensions.
