Naturalistic Education and the Thought Evolution of Children’s Education

Jingling Luo

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the complex interplay between naturalistic educational thought and children’s education, tracing its evolution from ancient origins through key thinkers to contemporary practice. Educators have reimagined learning as a dynamic interaction with the environment, advocating that holistic development can only be fostered through direct contact with the natural world. The implementation of modern forest schools, environmental education, ecological pedagogy, digital tools, virtual nature experiences and naturalistic behavior intervention has allowed these theories to truly take root in practice. Various explorations of naturalistic education contribute to a deeper integration of nature into education, continuously inspiring and guiding the development of children’s educational practices.
