On the Narrative Function of the Legend Musical Instruments in the Tang Dynasty——Take”Flute”as an Example

Abstract

The legend of the Tang Dynasty was deeply influenced by the highly developed music culture of the times.There were rich musical elements in these legends of the Tang Dynasty,among which the musical instrument image assumed a certain narrative function.Taking flute as an example,in the narrative of Tang legend,the author portrays the characters by describing the material of flute and the display of flute skills;Use”playing flute”to lead out the story,”discussions on flute”to promote the plot,and play the role of generating and promoting the plot;Set up a specific scene to describe the playing flute in the quiet and lonely,or the rock shattering,and construct the story scene.In the use of images to compose chapters,the legend of the Tang Dynasty has a certain degree of self-consciousness and shows a relatively skilled skill.
