Bio Statement  

Sushil Raj Poudel is an Advanced Analytics Manager at United Parcel Service (UPS) in the Department of Transportation Analytics and Operations Research. He completed his Ph.D. from Mississippi State University (May 2017) in industrial and systems engineering with the concentration on operations research. He received his bachelor’s degree (in 2013) in industrial and systems engineering with a minor in mathematics from Mississippi State University.

Sushil's research interests cover a wide variety of topics in the intersection of stochastic programming, decomposition methods, reliable hub-and-spoke supply chain network design, bio-fuel supply chain modeling and optimization, vehicle routing, traveling salesman problem and applying operations research tools and techniques in additive manufacturing. He had developed models and algorithms for solving large-scale reliable and congested supply chain with a particular application in biofuel supply chain network. He has published his work in several renowned journals such as Computers & Industrial Engineering and Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review. Additionally, he has published several conference proceedings and given a talk on his researches in several national and international level conferences. He served as an Instructor and as a teaching assistant for many classes such as Information Systems, Logistics Engineering, and Manufacturing Processes.

Sushil is an ex-president of INFORMS Student Chapter at MSU and ex-advisor of Nepalese Student Association at MSU. He enjoys photography, painting, mountain biking, and writing poems in his leisure time.
