Dr. S. P. Pradhan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Earth Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India. He obtained his M.Sc. (Applied Geology) and Ph.D. (Engineering Geology) from IIT Bombay, India. He worked as a Reservoir Engineer at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) for around five years where he was associated with many projects of national importance. He was awarded with the Young Scientist Award by the CITS-India and the Asset Manager Award for his excellent performance in gas field development at ONGC Ltd. His research findings have been well received by the scientific community and published in leading national and international journals, edited book, book chapters, and conference proceedings. Also, few of his research papers are honoured with 'Best Paper Award' by various organizations. His major research interests are experimental and numerical approaches in rock mechanics, engineering geology, and reservoir geomechanics. He is currently investigating three major research projects funded by the Government of India.
