The Impact of Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy on Career Development Education Outcomes among College Students: The Mediating Role of Psychological Capital

Daoxin Wang, Xiangzhe Cui

Abstract

This study investigates the mechanism through which Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy (CDMSE) influences Career Development Education Outcomes (CDEO) among college students and examines the mediating role of Psychological Capital (PsyCap). The findings reveal that: (1) CDMSE is positively correlated with CDEO; (2) PsyCap is positively associated with both CDMSE and CDEO; and (3) PsyCap partially mediates the effect of CDMSE on CDEO. These results indicate that enhancing students’ CDMSE can directly improve the effectiveness of career development education and indirectly strengthen educational outcomes by fostering their psychological capital.
