Sports tourism refers to travel which involves either observing or participating in a sporting event staying apart from their usual environment. Sport tourism is a fast-growing sector of the global travel industry. The opening of Beijing Olympic Games and the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games play a strong and leading role and provide an excellent opportunity in promoting the development of sports tourism in China. But at present, China's sports tourism industry is still in the primary stage of development. On the one hand, it is not mature enough, and on the other hand, it has great market development potential. Based on the current problems in the development of sports tourism, China needs to put forward their corresponding solutions to promote the rapid and steady development of China’s sports tourism industry.
