Abstract
“Shuohongshu” and “Party Secretary and the Old Poor Peasants” are two classic ink fi gure paintings in the history of modern
Chinese art. They have similarities in composition, creation techniques and so on. Both of them construct the picture through the unity of
opposition between the group portrait and the front fi gure, but there are many diff erences. This paper analyzes and studies the similarities
and diff erences of their creative background and creative techniques.
