Reform of College English Teaching and Curriculum Ideology and Politics under the Background of New Liberal Arts
Abstract
English teaching and the construction of ideological and political education in the curriculum are particularly important. This article explores
the importance of English teaching reform and the integration of ideological and political education in the curriculum. The integration of
ideological and political education into the curriculum can cultivate students’ moral literacy and sense of social responsibility. The key
elements include the cultivation of comprehensive language abilities, the application of task-based teaching and student-centered methods,
the introduction of cross-cultural communication and global perspectives, and the emphasis on practical and applied abilities. The key role
of teachers is that curriculum design and textbook selection should meet the needs of students and the trends of the times. The evaluation
and feedback mechanism is used to assess the eff ectiveness and sustainable development of teaching reform. The reform of English teaching
should aim to meet the needs of students, cultivate comprehensive abilities, and lead the development of thinking, promoting continuous
innovation and improvement in education.
