Study on the Integrated Model of Combining Course TeachingLearning and Competition for “Business Plan” in Private Higher Education Institutions
Abstract
writing business plans, the course teachers in Business English Major at Heilongjiang International University explored an integrated
teaching model of combining coursework and competitions. This research used a method of simultaneously integrating course teachinglearning content with “Business Plan” competition and its sub competitions. For instance, after completing a portion of the course content,
such as company introduction, a sub-competition, like “Company Presentation,” would take place. Likewise, another part of course content
being taught will be followed by a corresponding sub-competition, such as “Product Presentation” followed by “Product Presentation
Competition” afterwards. When the teaching and learning of the course fi nished, the whole “Business Plan” competition was over. This study
was primarily conducted with the Grade 2022 Business English classes 1-6 (149 students). Students voluntarily formed study groups, which
also served as competition teams, completing various teaching tasks and corresponding competitions according to the teaching schedule and
competition timeline. This resulted in positive educational outcomes and competition results, increasing student enthusiasm for participation
and experience in writing business plans, which can provide valuable references for similar private higher education institutions.
