The Application of Task-driven Teaching Method in Vocational English Classroom

Abstract


With the ongoing reform of vocational education, English classroom instruction in higher vocational education has also
experienced a new wave of transformation. In this context, the conventional English teaching model is no longer adequate to meet the
societal demand for high-caliber talent. Consequently, educators must proactively innovate their pedagogical approaches, particularly
by fostering the implementation of the task-driven teaching method, which focuses on cultivating students’ practical English skills and
overall competence. This approach aims to enhance the appeal and effi cacy of English instruction in higher vocational education, thereby
stimulating students’ enthusiasm for learning English, improving their language proficiency and all-around qualities, and facilitating
their future employment and career advancement. This paper elucidates the essence of the task-driven teaching method and examines its
signifi cance and practical strategies within the English classroom of higher vocational education, serving as a reference.
