An Analysis on the Value Guidance and Education Path of Ideological and Political Education in College English Curriculum under the Background of New Liberal Arts

Abstract


This paper discusses how college English courses lead students’ values in the context of the new liberal arts, and puts forward the path of education. First, the curriculum should focus on developing students’ cultural confi dence and international perspective, and promote the transformation of values through language learning. Secondly, the curriculum content should incorporate ideological and political elements to guide students to uphold socialist core values and national spirit. Finally, teachers should adopt a variety of teaching methods, such as case analysis and discussion, to cultivate students’ critical thinking ability and communication skills. Through these efforts, college English courses can become an important platform for shaping students’ positive values.
