Analysis of Contradiction and Characters in Gone With the Wind

Abstract


The novel Gone With the Wind has attracted much attention since its publication in 1936. Scarlett, the heroine, has always been a controversial fi gure because of her contradictory character. The portrayal of different characters in the works has its distinctive contradictory characteristics. This paper attempts to interpret the deep connotation refl ected behind the novel by analyzing the characteristics of different characters.
