Policy Evaluation and Problem Reflection on China’s Online Course Education Model in the Era of Epidemic

Zhuanghong Tong

Abstract

With the global outbreak of the COVID-19, the global education system has been impacted. As one of the most populous countries in the world, China’s education system has undergone changes without exception. During the epidemic, the Chinese government launched an online course education system and released numerous official online course education websites and platforms. This move has undoubtedly created a “new spring” for online education, opened up the online class market during the COVID-19, increased the number of users of online classes, a new teaching tool, and accelerated the transformation of China’s education system. However, there are still many problems, such as the transition between online classes and offline teaching, and the extent to which students absorb knowledge, these problems still plague many learners who primarily use online courses as their learning methods.
This report will discuss China’s online education system in four parts, namely, the summary of China’s online education situation in the pre-epidemic period and the post epidemic period, the inference of China’s online education development factors (taking the onset of the COVID-19 in 2020 as the event background), policy evaluation and suggestions.
