Research on Cohesion Problems and Countermeasures of College Students’ English Argumentative Writing

Abstract


College students are faced with the severe pressure of CET-4, CET-6, postgraduate entrance examination, IELTS, TOEFL and other large English tests, and argumentative writing also occupies a high proportion in these tests. Cohesion is one of the important criteria to test the quality of English writing. Through empirical research, this paper aims to explore the cohesion problems of college students in English argumentative writing and their causes, and put forward corresponding countermeasures to help them improve their cohesion skills and English literacy, improve their writing level, and provide theoretical basis and practical guidance for English writing teaching.
