Exploration into the Differences and Reasons for Middle School Students’ Participation in Sports Activities Between Urban and Rural Areas
Abstract
With the continuous development of society, the urban-rural gap is becoming increasingly significant, especially in the participation of middle school students in sports activities. There is a clear gap between urban and rural areas, and urban middle school students generally have better participation frequency, content selection, and facility conditions in sports activities than rural middle school students. This is closely related to factors such as economic conditions, distribution of educational resources, and parental attitudes. Due to weak infrastructure and weak cultural atmosphere in rural areas, students’ participation in sports activities is low. This article compares and analyzes the differences in sports activities between urban and rural middle school students, explores the underlying reasons, and proposes strategic suggestions to promote balanced development of sports activities between urban and rural students, in order to provide theoretical basis for the formulation of relevant policies.
