Reflection and Reconstruction of College English Teaching under the Ideology of Ideological and Political Education in Courses
Abstract
In the higher education reform of the new era, integrating ideological and political education into college English teaching has become an urgent requirement. This initiative aims to thoroughly implement the core mission of fostering virtue through education in colleges and universities, adhere to the inherent laws governing the development of English teaching, and meet the practical needs of contemporary college students for comprehensive and healthy growth. It is of great significance for cultivating talents with an international perspective and patriotic feelings to promote national development and social progress. Focusing on the value of reflection and reconstruction of college English teaching from the perspective of ideological and political education in courses, this paper analyzes the current status of college English teaching in implementing ideological and political education. It proposes practical pathways such as optimizing top-down design strategies, deeply exploring the elements of ideological and political education in courses, enhancing the ideological and political education capabilities of English teachers, and establishing evaluation and feedback mechanisms for ideological and political education in courses. These aim to enhance the awareness of college English educators towards ideological and political education and provide valuable references for research in related fields.
