Fang Song, Xiaokai He

Abstract

This study investigates African students’ adaptation to the online teaching environment in two dimensions. A five-point Likert scale questionnaire was administered to 82 African taking online courses off ered by universities in China. Results show that in terms of self-perception, students have a positive attitude towards online teaching but face difficulties in specific teaching areas. Adaptation to academic rules, especially class attendance, is challenging. Regarding the perception of teachers and staff , teachers are considered helpful, with first-year students requiring more direct assistance. Administrative staff ’s efforts in providing assistance are recognized, but there is room for improvement in patience.
