Traditional Chinese Culture Take Effects: Why China People Easily Accept Cellular Pay Than The US Market?

Xihao Ning

Abstract

The adoption of mobile payment systems highlights how cultural values shape technology acceptance. In China, collectivism and government support have fostered trust in centralized platforms like Alipay and WeChat Pay, leading to widespread use. In contrast, the U.S.’s emphasis on individualism, privacy, and control has created skepticism toward centralized systems, with Americans hesitant to adopt a single digital payment solution due to privacy and security concerns. This contrast refl ects how cultural norms infl uence adoption rates.
