Exploring Teaching Reform in “Micro/nano-fabrication Technology” Course Based on 5E Instructional Model

Xuemei Chen, Dongqi Guo

Abstract

The traditional “Micro/nano-fabrication Technology” course encounters several challenges such as disparity between theory and practice, lack of inspiration, and insufficient student engagement. To address these issues, this study explores innovative teaching reforms using the 5E instructional model, integrating inquiry-based learning, hands-on exercises, diverse experiments, group projects for innovation and real-world applications for deeper understanding. The goals of these approaches are to stimulate the students’ enthusiasm for learning, improve their practical application skills, and foster a deeper grasp of micro/nano-fabrication technology. These innovative strategies would off er valuable insights and serve as benchmarks for course reform, ultimately enhancing teaching effi cacy and enriching students’ comprehensive capabilities.
