Xia Pan, Muhammad

Abstract

As a rare heritage of ancient Chinese art, Banpo painted pottery pattern contains profound cultural connotation and unique aesthetic value. This paper focuses on exploring its application in the field of modern design, and reveals the fit of the modern design concept by analyzing the formal beauty criterion, symbolic meaning and cultural heritage of the design. With the help of case analysis and comparative research methods, the application of Banpo painted pottery pattern in many modern design works is analyzed. The results show that the Banpo painted pottery pattern has excellent performance in modern graphic design and product design, which adds cultural charm to the design works and improves its artistic value. However, there are also some conditions in the application. The lack of deep understanding of the connotation of the pattern leads to the application floating on the surface, and it pays too much attention to the form and ignores the coordination with the overall design style. In the future, we should strengthen the research and protection of Banpo painted pottery patterns, promote them to achieve more reasonable and innovative application in modern design, and contribute to the inheritance and promotion of the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
