The Relationship Between Employability/ Entrepreneurship Education and Curriculum in China: A Scoping Review

Lin Zeng, Astri Yulia

Abstract

This scoping review focuses on the relationship between employability/entrepreneurship education and curriculum in Chinese public universities. In the context of the increasing number of college graduates and employment challenges in China, innovation and entrepreneurship education (IEE) is crucial for enhancing students' employability. By following PRISMA guidelines and Arksey & O’Malley’s framework, 14 relevant studies published from 2021 - 2024 were selected. The results show that some Chinese universities have outdated concepts and goals in IEE. The combination of information technology and IEE is an important research direction. IEE significantly influences students' employment and entrepreneurship, and the curriculum plays a vital role in the effectiveness of IEE. However, there is limited research on integrating IEE with curriculum design for employability training. Future studies should explore how to make the IEE course more effectively improve students' employability.
