Research on the Government’s Response to Sudden Public Incidents from the Perspective of Public Crisis Management: A Case Study Based on the “4.29” Major Residential Building Collapse Accident in Changsha, Hunan Province
Abstract
Currently, China is in a difficult period of comprehensively deepening reform and opening up, with risks, challenges, and opportunities coexisting. Various public crisis events are also emerging, and the management of public crises has become a top priority for China’s economic and social development. The government’s ability to respond to sudden public events has also been improved and consolidated through repeated crises. This article takes the perspective of public crisis management and analyzes the “4.29” particularly major collapse of self built houses by residents in Changsha, Hunan in 2022 as a case study to explore how the government should respond to sudden public events.
