Thinking and Practical Exploration on the Transformation and Development of Foreign Language Institutions in the New Era

Abstract


Against the backdrop of globalization and digitalization, the foreign language education is facing challenges such as changes in the international landscape and the impact of artificial intelligence technology, but also new opportunities for development due to national strategic needs and educational reforms. In the cultivation of foreign language talents in the new era, it is necessary to deeply grasp the dual attributes of language with both humanistic and scientific qualities, as well as to take into account the intrinsic unity of its instrumental and humanistic values. The transformation of foreign language universities in the new era is essentially to realize the leap from “instrumental education” to “value education” through the integration of disciplines, the empowerment of science and technology and the innovation of talent model.
