Xuedong Liu

Abstract

We are currently in a new era characterized by the interweaving of the “two overall situations” and the convergence of the “two centenary goals”. As a key course for fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, Ideological and Political Theory Courses (hereinafter referred to as “Ideological and Political Courses”) bear the historical mission of cultivating new generations capable of shouldering the responsibility of national rejuvenation. Political nature is the essential attribute of Ideological and Political Courses, while academic rationality serves as their inherent support; the two are interdependent and mutually reinforcing. From the perspective of adhering to the unity of political nature and academic rationality in Ideological and Political Courses in the new era, this paper analyzes the dilemmas existing in the process of realizing this unity in current Ideological and Political Courses, and further explores the practical path of upholding fundamental principles and promoting innovation in Ideological and Political Courses in the new era.
