The Analysis of the Models and Paths of Deep Integration of Scientific and Technological Innovation and Advanced Manufacturing in Dongguan

Abstract


This paper uses Dongguan as a case to examine the patterns and pathways of deep integration between technological innovation and advanced manufacturing. Drawing on Dongguan’s recent practices in manufacturing digitalization, industrial chain collaboration, and the development of producer services, the study identifies three integration models: the integration of technological innovation platforms with advanced manufacturing, the integration of information technology with advanced manufacturing, and the integration of technology-based service industries with advanced manufacturing. It further proposes five concrete pathways. The aim of this paper is to systematically elaborate the models and pathways through which technological innovation and advanced manufacturing can achieve deep integration in Dongguan, and to offer practical policy recommendations to support local industrial transformation and upgrading.
