Resolving Feigned Compliance: Deconstructing the Distinctive Characteristics of Convicted Officials under Centralized Detention and Developing an Integrated System of Management and Correction
Abstract
Under the centralized detention model, convicted officials exhibit distinctive patterns of rehabilitation and psychological characteristics. Based on an empirical study of Prison P, this paper systematically examines the multiple distinctive characteristics of these offenders in terms of identity, psychological behavior, and supervision. It reveals the resulting phenomenon of feigned compliance (pseudo-prosperity) and its underlying causes, and proposes a pathway toward an integrated system of management and correction. This approach aims to transform convicted officials from superficial compliance to genuine change, thereby consolidating the second-phase outcomes of the anti-corruption campaign.
