On the New Teaching Mode of Integration of Speech-embedded English Classroom Teaching and Extra-curricular Public Speaking in Second Classroom ---A Case Study of BIPT

Peilan Peng

Abstract

The integration of public speaking embedded into College English class with extra-curricular public speaking practices is explored through the practice of comparative patterns of teaching for a year by applying the "i+1" concept of Krashen's input theory and the triggering function of Swain's output theory and taking the contrast experiment method. The experimental results show that the English score and language output ability of the experimental group are significantly higher than that of the control group. This speech embedded teaching model not only helps to improve students' comprehensive English application ability, but also helps to cultivate students' self-confidence and enthusiasm in language learning, and also provides important teaching enlightenment for college English teaching.
