A Cognitive Poetic Study of the "Bell Jar" Life of American Confessional Poets: Taking Sylvia Plath as an Example

Abstract


American "confessional poetry" has the characteristics of combining narrative and lyricism. Poets often convey their strong personal emotions through surface narrative. As one of the representatives of American "confessional" poets, Sylvia Plath’s poetry is not only loved by readers but also has been an important subject of research by relevant experts and scholars. This article takes Sylvia Plats as an example, and analyzes the "Bell Jar" life of the confessional poet by analyzing her representative work Bell Jar, hoping that on the one hand, it can bring new inspiration to the majority of literary creators; On the one hand, it also allows more people to understand the creative connotation of Sylvia Plath and feel the rich spiritual world of poets.
