Research on Innovative Teaching Method of College English under New Curriculum Concept

Abstract


The importance of English as the main language tool for communicating with the world in the context of the era of globalization is self-evident. However, due to the influence of China’s long-term professional education talent training model, even though the new curriculum concept is implemented and the call for curriculum reform is growing, the teaching method of college English in China still hold a tool-oriented orientation, which emphasizes on the mastering of students’ foreign language skills, and ignores other developments. This article aims to discuss the current situation of college English teaching under the new curriculum concept, and then based on the author’s work experience and personal thinking, put forward innovative teaching methods for peer discussion and exchange.
