On the Reform of Teaching Method of “Statistics”——Thinking from the Teaching Method of “Taking Case as an Example” to the Case Teaching Method

Abstract


As a basic theoretical subject with strong application, “statistics” has an urgent need to reform its teaching methods.
By analyzing the shortcomings of the traditional teaching method of “statistics”, discussing the breakthroughs in the reform of
the teaching method paradigm, the importance of the case teaching method is drawn. In addition, on the basis of distinguishing
between the teaching method of “taking case as an example” and the case teaching method, the advantages and disadvantages
of the case teaching method are further pointed out and suggestions are given.
