The Historical Development of Imperialism and Colonization and Its Case Analysis in the Modern Perspective

Linxi Li

Abstract

This paper will mainly focus on the theoretical study of imperialism in the 20th century by Hobson, Lenin, and David Fieldhouse. By analyzing British colonial policies in the Middle East and South Asia and studying decolonization and self-determination, the paper will gradually demonstrate the essence of imperialism. In addition, this paper also analyzes the status quo of colonialism and imperialism. Imperialism and colonialism evolved into neo-imperialism in the modernization process and sought to control the industries of the weak countries.
