The Orientation and Development of International Communication of Chinese Culture under the Background of International Chinese Education from the Perspective of "Symbolic Competence"

XiuBi Jiang, Le Yin

Abstract

Symbolic competence, proposed by American linguist Claire Kramsch, is a more complete language competence than communicative competence. In multivariate, multi-language cultural background, the goal of international Chinese language teaching needs to be transformed from the surface of the communicative competence to multidimensional symbolic competence. In international Chinese language teaching, teachers need to combine with the practical example to expound the methods and approaches of comprehensive multilingual use in language learning, enabling the students to have enough space for creation and choice, promoting students' language learning initiative, and achieving their standard use of language and effective grasp of language balance. Based on the cultivation of symbolic competence, this paper studies the orientation and development path of international communication of Chinese culture under the background of international Chinese education.
