The Analysis of Differences Between Chinese and English from Linguistics

Abstract

Learning a new language is essential and challenging. There is a lack of understanding about the root reason of it. Thinking set is a stable standard thinking route, mode and program, shaped according to one’s accumulated thinking activity lessons and the existing law of thinking. Linguistics is a scientific study about human language and an analysis of language form, meaning and content.This study empirically compares Chinese and English in five basic branches in linguistics and can be divided into into three parts. At first, the concept of thinking set, the concept of linguistics and their relation will be introduced. And then differences between Chinese and English will be analyzed from five basic branches in linguistics. Finally it will thoroughly show the results and emphasize its function on English teaching and learning.
