Application of English Picture Books for Teaching English in Speaking at Primary Schools

Abstract


English is a language subject, which focuses on cultivating students’ comprehensive language application ability. “Speaking” is an important indicator to measure students’ language ability. However, in our country, speaking English teaching is the most easily neglected link. Therefore, this study adopts the cognitive development theory of Piaget, starts from the practice of speaking English teaching in primary schools, combined with the application value of English picture books, and provides a reference method for speaking English teaching, in order to improve the speaking English teaching of primary school students.
