Relationships between College Student Extracurricular Activities and Personal Development in Typological and Dimensional Correlations

Abstract


This‎ research aims to‎ explore‎ further the problem of college students’ personal development in contemporary and answer the question‎ of “What is the impact of college students’ extracurricular activities on their personal development in typological and dimensional correlations, and how should we guide and help college students manage their extracurricular activities?”. It selected a sample of 279 junior students in the Business Administration Department of Gongqing College based on effective feedback and reliability questionnaires about this problem, empirically examined hypotheses on relations between typologies and dimensions of college students’ extracurricular activities and personal development, clarified the key role of college students’ extracurricular activities. The findings argue mainly that, act as one dimension of college students’ extracurricular activities, experiences of those activities would have a stronger influence on their personal development than the devoted level do, and the individual executive ability of their personal development should be more statistically significantly affected by college students’ extracurricular activities. Additionally, the findings suggest that harmonious and balanced college students’ extracurricular activities will benefit more with their personal development.
