The Social and Cultural Factors in Translation Practice

Yuan Li

Abstract

Language is culture. Language translation is the translation of culture, which is closely related to language. Therefore, the transformation of translation between two languages should not only stay at the literal level, but also consider the collision and communication between two cultures. The factors affecting translation accuracy and information equivalence are not only reflected in the differences of languages, but also in the heterogeneity of social and cultural factors. How to avoid the accuracy and equivalence of translation information caused by social and cultural factors is undoubtedly a practical problem that must be solved in translation work. This paper sorts out the social and cultural factors that affect translation practice, and puts forward specific countermeasures and suggestions.
