An Analysis Of Narrative Themes In British Children’s Fan-tasy Literature In The Victorian Period

Abstract


With the vigorous industrial revolution, English literature has developed by leaps and bounds, promoting the germination of the awareness of "writing for children", coupled with the increase in social education and family education investment, the development of British children's fantasy literature has a solid economic and ideological foundation. The Victorian period was the fi rst peak period of British children's literature. During this period, the number of children's literature works was not only large, but also highly accomplished, which had a profound impact on the development of children's literature in later generations. This article briefl y analyses the narrative theme of British children's fantasy literature in the Victorian period, and extracts its aesthetic pursuit and artistic transformation process from it, hoping to be helpful to the development of children's literature in my country.
