The Implementation Strategies of “Curriculum Ideology and Politics” in English Teaching in Higher Vocational C olleges

Abstract


College English teaching carries the dual responsibility of imparting knowledge and culture and cultivating ideology and morality. Language plays an indispensable role in education system for it is characterized by instrumentality, humanism and ideology. The integration of “curriculum ideology and politics” into the English language Teaching is a new requirement and challenge for college English courses in the current situation. By analyzing the connotation of “curriculum ideology and politics”, combined with the basic situation of English teaching, this paper puts forward some specifi c implementation strategies of “curriculum ideology and politics” for English courses in higher vocational colleges from several aspects, such as strengthening ideological and political awareness, connecting with major characteristics, researching teaching materials, and optimizing evaluation system.
