An Analysis of Dialogues in the Blind Side from the Perspective of Face Theory
Abstract
Appropriate interchange can facilitate communication, while inappropriate interchange can cause displeasure. [1] This paper takes the dialogue of characters in fi lm the Blind Side as the cases to analyze the face-threatening acts and to explore the use of politeness strategies. This paper has a certain guiding signifi cance for readers to better understand the face theory of Brown and Levinson, to avoid face-threatening act and to promote the smooth and harmonious communication.
