Ecological Movements During the Anthropocene: Dilem-mas and Developments

Zhe Niu

Abstract

In the Anthropocene stage, the ecological crisis is worsening. The formation of a new species consciousness and the movement against extinction are the main ways to solve the Anthropocene crisis. Faced with the ecological crisis, a concrete manifestation of the Anthropocene crisis, a mass movement against environmental pollution and ecological destruction is rapidly emerging: the classless, non-violent ecological movement. Because the profi t motive in the Anthropocene necessarily destroys the ecological environment, the ecological movement necessarily clashes with the profi t motive in the Anthropocene. Thus the eco-logical movement confronts the entire Anthropocene system if it is to proceed successfully. The article focuses on the ecological movement in response to the Anthropocene, its drawbacks, and how they developed. The article focuses on the peaceful develop-ment of the ecological movement in the Anthropocene period and provides valuable and reliable references and inspirations for the ecological civilization of China in the new era.
