A Study on the General State and History of Minority Language Primary Education in Chengdu, Sichuan Province—Taking Chengdu Foreign Languages School as an Example

Abstract


In the context of economic globalization, the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of western China, the social concern of minority language primary education in western China has been increasing. Based on this background and social environment, this study takes Chengdu, Sichuan Province, a representative city in the western region, as the research object. Taking Chengdu Foreign Languages School as an example, the study adopts field research, literature research, and case studies to carry out in-depth study of the establishment and development of the school’s primary education in minority languages. The results are summarized in seven aspects: increase and decrease of languages, teaching reform, curriculum innovation, subject competitions, teachers’ team, international exchange, and government-school-enterprise cooperation, so as to demonstrate the history of the school’s minority language primary education and the general state of minority language primary education in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
