The Idea and Practice of 'Integration' in Approaching A Personal Choreographic Language

Bin Li

Abstract

The paper recorded my research process on dance project, it investigated the choreographic idea of ‘integration’ by addressing the following questions: 1. What is the meaning of the choreographic idea of 'integration’? 2. How can we integrate different kinds of dance movements? 3. What impact might this idea and practice of 'integration' have on my own choreography? Lastly, what might the influence of using the choreographic idea generally be on the whole practice of dance? In this paper I will pay more attention to ‘integration’ in concrete dance movements, but will also introduce other components in dance performance that express the choreographic idea ‘integration’, such as topic, sound, and stage design.
