Composition and Artistic Characteristics of ShuiLu Murals in Qingshi Temple, Yuxian County, Shanxi Province

Abstract


The ShuiLu painting in the main hall of Qingshi Temple in Yuxian County is one of the few existing ShuiLu murals in the Yangquan area of Shanxi.The temple was rebuilt Twice, through the vicissitudes of life.The existing ShuiLu paintings are relics of the Qing Dynasty, mainly distributed on the east, west and north walls.East and West the number of objects is basically the same, but the frescoes on the north wall have long been destroyed.On the whole, the ShuiLu murals of Qingshi Temple adopt the thick ink and heavy color painting method.the painting is very prominent, giving people a visual impact.And the painter skillfully solved the problems of limited space in temples and too compact arrangement of characters.It can be regarded as a classic work of ShuiLu painting in the Qing Dynasty.
