Preparation and Photocatalytic Properties of MgO / C3N4 Nanosheets

Zhijie Jiang

Abstract

With the rapid development of social economy and industry, China’s environmental pollution problem is becoming more and more serious, and the treatment method of water pollution is particularly concerned. Therefore, the synthesis of an effi cient, stable, and pollution-free catalyst is considered as a potential approach to solve these problems. As a new type of photocatalytic material, g-C3N4 is favored by many researchers. In order to further improve its photocatalytic activity, a simple one-step roasting method was adopted to load MgO on g-C3N4 material and synthesized a series of MgO/ C3N4 nanosheet samples with diff erent MgO content, which were characterized by UV diff use refl ection spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS), specifi c surface area measurement (BET), infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diff raction (XRD) and UV visible spectroscopy.
