How to Eff ectively Implement Ideological and Political Education in College English Teaching

Abstract


English course is one of the important general courses in universities, in which it is very important to infi ltrate ideological and political education. At present, many college English teachers ignore the construction of classroom atmosphere and the connection between English and ideological and political content, resulting in low learning enthusiasm of college English students and failure to achieve good teaching results. Under the background of the current new era, more and more attention is paid to the cultivation of all aspects of college students’ quality, so as to provide high-quality and professional talents for the society. Therefore, teachers should pay full attention to the penetration of ideological and political education in college English teaching, change teaching ideas in a timely manner, and eff ectively implement ideological and political teaching by simulating classroom teaching situations, applying group cooperation methods, and conducting debate contests. While improving students’English learning ability, it also promotes the improvement of students’ ideological and political literacy and promotes their overall development.
